M. Lee Blackburn Jr., MD | 

 

 

Dr. Lee Blackburn began his career with Hanover Family Physicians in 1989. He earned his undergraduate degree and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia. He completed his internship in family medicine at the Medical College of Georgia and his family medicine residency at the Wake Forest University Bowman Gray School of Medicine.

 

Dr. Blackburn is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He also holds Certificates of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine and Geriatrics.

 

While practicing with Hanover Family Physicians, Dr. Blackburn also taught in Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical College of Virginia Family Practice Residency Program from 1989-2005. He continues to hold the rank of Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at VCU/MCV.

 

In addition to his practice with Hanover Family Physicians, Dr. Blackburn serves as the team physician for Hanover High School football, volunteers at The Cheryl Watson Memorial Free Clinic and travels to Haiti to provide medical care. Dr. Blackburn is thankful for the long term relationships that he develops with his patients and the role that he can play in helping them to live healthy lives.
